On Thursday 30th August, the group of local residents who have spearheaded the Community Engagement process met. They have now received the final report from Community Enterprise on the community engagement exercise that was carried out on their behalf.
To download the Executive Summary Report, please click here. The full report can be obtained by emailing the group at
Discussions also centred on how to take things forward given the recommendations and suggestions. It was agreed to develop a new constitution to better reflect the current aims and objectives of the group and then hold an AGM to elect office bearers to take the group forward into the exciting, new phase of their journey. A draft of the revised constitution will be discussed at the next meeting at the end of September and then a date set for the AGM.
Broxburn and Uphall - Our Community | Our Choice | Our Vision
A group of local residents of Uphall and Broxburn have come together to create a plan that will make the area a better place to live, work and visit. They are finalising a suite of community meetings, at which point they will formally launch the research and will circulate posters etc. Please distribute on social media if you can.

The Christmas Tree Lights were switched-on at Uphall Community Education Centre on Saturday 10th December 2016 by Margaret Wilson. Margaret is the daughter of Dr Thomson whose practice and home was at The Lindens, Uphall for many years. In more recent times, Uphall residents will have enjoyed reading Margaret's memories of the village, in years gone by, in the Uphall Village News.

On the 31st December 2015, Andersons the Baker at Goschen closed for the very last time. Many a school pupil will remember spending their lunch money (sorry mum) at Andersons before wandering back to school.
Wendy worked at the shop for 46 years and before that at the Craigshill shop. Before it closed, we took a trip down memory lane and the photographs below show the shop and also Wendy (who many of you will recognise from your school days). Well done Wendy for putting up with us all!
The Christmas Tree Lights were switched-on at Uphall Community Education Centre on Saturday 5th December 2015 by Jonathan Moore. Jonathan has, over many years, worked hard for the betterment of the village. Local community stalwarts, Myra Macpherson and Irene Bishop, helped Jonathan press the button to switch the lights on.
