Smile

SMILE
Smile is a charity based in Uphall whose aim is to reduce isolation and promote well being, as well as support families, friends and carers who are caring for loved ones with dementia or age-related illnesses.

In early 2017 they started renovating the old tennis pavilion next to Middleton Hall Care Home with the intention of it becoming an activities centre.  This would give a much needed space to host weekly activities for care home residents and elderly people in the community.  Smile works closely with a number of other organisations to bring a variety of activities to everyone.

One of their initiatives, as part of the Jumping Generations project, is The Heritage Fairy Woods which is located in and around the woods of Middleton Hall, Uphall.  The Fairy Trail is free to visit and your own fairy door, fairy house or bird box can be purchased and placed within the woods for you to find.  Heritage Fairy Woods is fun for children to discover and a lovely place to leave behind a memory of someone in the garden.
