Almondell & Calderwood Country Park

Almondell and Calderwood Country Park covers an area of 220 acres in the valley of the River Almond between Broxburn and East Calder.

The park offers beautiful riverside and woodland walks and areas to enjoy a picnic. The Visitor Centre (postcode is EH52 5PE) is housed in the former stable block of the Almondell Estate - and includes displays, a gallery, information and a conservatory where you can enjoy refreshments.

The Country Park is a wildlife haven with roe deer, fox, heron, otters and woodpeckers all making their home there.  Calderwood SSSI is an ancient woodland and a contrast to Almondell.  Explore the trails and discover bluebells and fascinating fungi.

National Cycle Route 75 runs directly through Almondell Country Park linking to Edinburgh, Livingston, Bathgate, Armadale and beyond.
