Greenspace/woodland off Wyndford Avenue

Central Scotland Green Network Trust and West Lothian Council are seeking on-line comments about the park off Wyndford Avenue.

These will further assist them in designing initial plans to enhance the greenspace and woodland in the park.

A questionnaire is available at http://www.csgnt.org.uk/news-and-events/latest-news/142-proposals-for-new-park-off-wyndford-avenue-in-kirkhill-broxburn which seeks comments about the current use of the greenspace/woodland and what enhancements people would like to see to enjoy the park.

The survey is available until 30 June 2019.

Local Defibrillator Fundraising

The 1756 (Broxburn) Sqn Air Cadets are fundraising for an accessible Defibrillator.

30,000 people die each year, outwith hospital, from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA).  620 of these are people under the age of 35 and 270 of these deaths happen to children within schools.

If defibrillation takes place within the first three minutes of a SCA, the patient’s chances of survival increase by upwards of 80%. Having the defibrillator installed means that it can be deployed by the local ambulance trust in a bid to give the patient the all-important shock to the heart prior to the ambulance arrival.

The defibrillator is by no means a replacement to the ambulance service, it just allows patient treatment to commence immediately.

If you can help Sqn 1756 by donating, supporting with a fundraising event, or taking on a sponsored challenge then please contact them direct or via https://www.aeddonate.org.uk/projects/aed-for-1756broxburn-sqn-air-cadets/.

Greenspace areas off Wyndford Avenue

Central Scotland Green Network Trust and West Lothian Council are developing proposals to enhance the woodland and greenspace areas off Wyndford Avenue to encourage more public use.  A community consultation event will be held on 26 April between 4pm and 7pm at Unit 2, Kirkhill Business Centre, Park Court (off Park Terrace), Broxburn.

The event will let them find out how the community currently uses the Park, what they do and don’t like about it and what improvements or changes could be made to improve the space.

You can drop in anytime between 4pm and 7pm to give them your comments and suggestions.  Following the consultation event they will consider all comments and use them to develop proposals for creating an enhanced park.
